Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Post-graduate degree in related discipline or equivalent professional designation preferred. Certified Clinical Research Professional through SoCRA or ACRP preferred. Minimum of three years experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Job Summary: To oversee clinical trials unit operations and ensure the highest ethical and regulatory standards are followed while conducting clinical trials at BC Children’s Hospital.

This position is the functional interface between the Director/Principal Investigators in the Division of Oncology/Hematology/BMT and the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). This position will be the providing vision and will be responsible for developing and strategically planning programs from conception to completion as well as managing clinical multi-research, multi-disciplinary projects the operational clinical trials manager within the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT and Childhood Cancer and Blood Research Cluster.

The individual will be accountable for the execution of clinical protocols within the allocated budget, personnel resources and timelines and will bring operational knowledge to the translation of clinical research protocols into practice. The individual will contribute to the leadership of the department by providing guidance and direction to colleagues to ensure the successful achievement of the department goals and milestones. The individual will also maintain a high level of current knowledge in clinical trials in order to provide expertise to different parts of the Clinical Research Support Group.

In addition to areas of the hospital, outpatient visits are performed in the clinical offices, and research recording and communication occurs with the research office. Attendance at clinical rounds and study meetings occur frequently and travel to international conferences and study meetings may occur. The manager attends study and other meetings along with or on behalf of the Director and Research Program Manager.
