This year I have taken up the torch to represent all the pediatric oncology health providers across Canada in the National Kids Cancer Ride http://staceymarjerrison.nationalkidscancerride.com
For those not familiar, this ride equates to about 150km/day for 18 days, as we cycle across Canada from Vancouver to Halifax during Childhood Cancer Awareness month in September. The ride raises funds through the Coast to Coast Foundation (https://coasttocoastagainstcancer.org) which supports so many programs for our families affected by childhood cancer. They provide funding directly to the Canadian childrens hospitals to make sure the kids get the best possible care and programming. They support research through the C17, as well as all the kids cancer camps – at which I worked before I was an oncologist. I see the difference that all of these make in the lives of kids with cancer – this is why I’m riding.
In order to ride, I need to raise at least $15,000 – so please consider supporting me through donations, as well as spreading the word. I hope you’ll follow along as this journey goes on, and that you’ll be out to cheer us on as we ride through your city! I will be posting updates on my twitter feed and instagram accounts where I’m @staceymarj on both: https://twitter.com/staceymarj & https://www.instagram.com/staceymarj/ .
Thank you for all your support!

The Phoebe Rose Rocks Foundation was founded in 2016 in memory of Phoebe Rose Doull-Hoffman. Phoebe’s family and community established the Phoebe Rose Rocks Foundation to foster positive change within the childhood cancer community. Their mission is to support families who need to travel for treatment (more than 200 km) and to raise funds for childhood cancer research with a focus on difficult to treat and cure childhood cancers. – Phoebe would often say that living with cancer as a child was “not okay” – this is our way of helping to make it okay.

I’m asking if you can help me fundraise for the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride 2015.
Cancer is the biggest killer of Canadian children after trauma. That’s cruel and not fair. Although 82% of kids with cancer are cured, 18% are not. That’s unacceptable.
No child deserves cancer. It robs kids of their childhood and rips families apart. Kids and families have to endure so much suffering and pain, separation and stress. We want to make this a thing of the past.
That’s why we ride in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride – a chance to raise awareness and to raise money to help fight kids cancer. Every dollar donated goes to support the 17 children’s cancer units across the country, cancer research and help kids be kids again at camps such as Camp good time, and Camp Trillium. I am riding again this year to try and make a difference. So are 32 other dedicated riders, and the volunteers who support us in doing this journey .
Please consider supporting us by helping me raise $25,000 towards this goal by visiting http://www.snkcr.com/brucecrooks and either making a donation, or doing some fundraising on our behalf so we can say no kid deserves cancer, and no kid has to suffer again.
